From Australia
With Love

Emancipation
On many a firefly
moonlit night
I gazed upon your
face
until now
our trees have all
grown tall
and there is no longer
chase;
I’ve counted stars,
wished my life
away, awash with thoughts
of you,
but in this moment,
so wickedly free,
I feel great joy,
relief to be
in awe
of the beauty
in this scented night:
the joy the sky has
brought
each star so bright
no clouds in sight
a crisp clear spread
of galaxies afar,
and glowing toadstools
from earth arise,
shine
fluorescent in the
Libran moon,
whilst I, at one with
nature
yield
relinquish
all desires
to have or to hold,
but instead rejoice
that I am here
to be
see
feel
live
breathe
listen to
speak with
this universal love.
