The Ole Southern Rule
When the ole bread winner comes home
from work, you suppose to
have his bath water ran
and his dinner cooked.
That's the ole southern rule.
Hush child while grown folks talkin
A child aint suppose to be
in grown folk business now.
That's the ole southern rule.
It's ok for Mr. to be
in the streets with other women,
as long as he pays the bills
and take care of home, but it
just don't look right for a woman to do it.
That's the ole southern rule.
So I packed my bags and
moved up north.
