Patchouli

Patchouli

The taste of cinnamon lingers on my tongue,
And your scent, it lingers in the air.
Your movements- scared and nervous
You bring me a smile (you hold it in your hand.)
In your dreams she doesn't fly, but when she walks
-with you-
She doesn't touch the ground.
"Lovers of the beautiful, Simple in our tastes."
Soft skin, a pretty face, and a beautiful body.
I could stand here all night,
Hand on your back,
And just look-
Artificial lights, red and white,
The cracked sidewalk and the trash on the street.
You make it beautiful.
I know my reputation precedes me, reaches you before I do…
But…
Don't believe everything you hear.
I just want to be near you,
Place you in my pocket,
Where'll you'll be warm and safe.
Run away with me-
To Hawaii.
Or we can walk to Las Vegas, a faery by my side,
Beautiful words that make me cry.
You ring in my ears.
I want to hear those things from you.
