And Then I Lost You

And Then I Lost You

Silence loud enough to wake the dead,
And as the world danced before my eyes,
I scream- "She lies, she lies!"
With no one here to touch me,
No one to protect me,
I shut my eyes, pretend to smile,
And pray that you don't find me.
Someone else to call my own.
Someone to hear me.
I lived in a glass house once,
But I liked to throw boulders.
I mowed it down, shoved it out,
And the glass clawed at my feet.
My blood falls from my eyes,
Single hands now, soft unspoken.
Tied behind my back tonight,
Screaming in my pillow.
Please take me back there,
Please take me home.
I have more promises to break,
And you,
You stand through it all.
