River Deep
I peer into the river of you
lost in your calm waters that give way
to a deepness that I plunge into.
There are layers and more layers
each one drawing me in
the deeper I go- the more I want to see.
Your waters surround me, calm yet excite
flowing over me, through me
till I am filled with your river deep
and my heart is healed
and my soul quenched
and I could no more walk away
from your soothing waters
than I could walk away from
the warm sun above.
