The Ballad of the Silent Sea
The sea was so quiet today
I had to lay down by her side
To hear the soft murmur of
Tiny waves touching my body
With the tender caress of a gentle lover
Even the birds stopped chatting
The reflection of the sun created
A myriad of quick-silver lights
Dancing on the water as fallen stars
Closing my eyes I felt you
Bronze and shining
Curling up in the curve of my lap
Our faces melting together
In the mirror of the water
I tasted your lips
The sweet delight of your tongue
Smiling I knew that for one magic moment
I had experienced the perfection of happiness.
