Outside it's cold
Inside I'm warming
Thoughts of you
And I together
Wintering a home
Welcoming guests
With laughter
And conversation
Friendship and newness
Grown comfortable
In it's own time
Like a well-worn,
Much loved sweater
Never throw it out
Keep it till I die
Cold outside, winter weather
Snow colored sentiments
Frosty pale blue icicle ornaments
And wreaths of pine needles
Tied together with ecru ribbon
That twists in clever fashion
I will hang it on the door
When my cold is all better
Never mind the cold
I am warm inside
I have you in my heart
And in my mind
Love keeps me warm
