Parallel

Concrete jungle of chaos
Red carnivorous ants forage
Slowly devouring all aspects of young life
Most inhabitants gnarled and snaggle tooth,
kissing curbs
Non- weather proof cardboard boxes
Pissed on by other dwellers
Like hermit crabs dueling for new improved shells
Ashamed of their twisted appendages
I sacrificed my eyes for them
But hope is what they could not see
Blindly I wandered into your chest
Welcoming with resonating light
Encasing within a ribcage
Transporting me into a happier realm.
