I've been a fool
For lesser things
So it makes sense
I'd be a bigger fool
For a better thing
And a greater fool
For a sweeter dream.
Would you turn away
My full bouquet
For a single rose
In your memory…
When there's nothing
She gave to you
That I couldn't
Give you more of?
You can stop my dream
From coming true
But you can't keep me
From loving you
The way I do.
It feels so good
When you say to me:
"I Love You"
But it hurts so bad
Each time you add:
"Friends Always".
What is it that
I'm doing which
I shouldn't do?
Or am I not
Doing something
That I should?
This all seems like:
"Once Upon A Time,
"The End" you see
And I can't help
But want to fill
Each chapter up
With you and me.
I wish Vanna White
Would give me one
Little consonant,
The letter "L" and
A small space could
Change everything:
From "Friends Always"
To "Friends All Ways"
