Madison Mikel Weiss

 
Madison was born in Chicago, Illinois.  She began drawing cartoons and 
illustrations at the early age of four, plastering her bedroom walls with
imaginative characters and social commentary. In high school her doodles covered desks, notebooks, and every scrap of paper she came in contact with. At Santa Monica College she took up sculpting stone and graphics, and gained experience freelancing pen and ink illustrations for different community organizations and businesses. During the following years, she harnessed her creativity and utilized it as an outlet for healing her inner soul. 

Inspirations include Pablo Picasso,Mark Chagal, Peter Maxx, Jules Fieffer, 
and Edward Gorey. Some of her famous female icons are Marlena Deitrich, Amelia Erhardt, Jeanette Winterson, Maya Angelou, Whoopi and Oprah. Self described as a "Pop" Artist/Illustrator, Madison has also been working on developing her  portfolio for the Illustration of children's books.  she is a member of the Society for Childrens Book Writers and Illustrators and has been published in several local papers. 

Madison received her bachelor's degree in 1994 in clinical psychology from 
Antioch University. She also developed her Children's book /Illustration site at
www.rhinocartoonz.com. Madison shows her work regularly at local galleries and the San Diego Art Walk. She and her Life partener reside in San diego, 
California.
